Moses Lake WA to Clatskanie Or

We all arrived in Moses Lake WA for the National West Rally on Tuesday (July 19) afternoon. We left Madras OR that morning in the rain and rode quite some time before it stopped, that's when we hit the wind--real wind!! I believe I heard something like 70 mph!! The scenery once again breathtaking as we rode - huge mountains with rocky, shear cliffs on one side as we rode along the Columbia River and green lush forests with the darkest green pines ever. I am beginning to understand why people hit the roads on their bikes and just ride for hours and days. The presence of God is so real as you ride through His beautiful creation; it takes over and it's God and you on that bike enjoying all He has created and to realize that He would have created it for your enjoyment even if you were the only one on this earth and that is how He loves you.

Day 3 Alturas CA to Madras Oregon

Another full day!! The only ride sweeter than yesterday's was today! Weather was perfect yet again-we started the day with warm sun and rode through some amazing country in Northern California.  Again, mere words escape me-the beauty of the ever changing landscape covered with various shades of green, soft rolling mountains-soft in appearance with patches of light green covering the ground spotted with tuffs of brown and trees.  At one point when the tempurature was cooling and the clouds beginning to cover the sky the hills on the sides of the road steepened and became lush with dark green pines and up ahead a huge looming almost black mountian beakoning us forward.  I believe God spoke to me at that point and reminded me to continue moving forward no matter what it looks like up ahead. He is in control and knows whats up there. He has a plan and will see us through. I've been reminded several times over the last few days of the importance of perserverence and building our faith in God.  He has a plan for us-one He has promised to prosper us.  He loves us-each one of us and He created all of this for our enjoyment and pleasure. Thank you Lord for this

We rode in to Oregan late morning to more rolling hills on to our right and a large expanse of water on the left with mountians in the far distance. As we entered Silverlake our next gas stop; surprize no gas station.  On we venture-some of the bikes on fumes-lucky for us we could only travel 55mph and the tanks were empying a little slower than they usually do.  The forest began the thicken with tall fragrant pines-the scent of pine filled the air and the cloud cover began to darken; the weather cool and the rain drops began to fall.  The road was long and the shoulder thin; no rest stops and some miles before the next town.  The Lord had favor on us and a small two tank gas station showed up on the right side of the road and no one ran out of gas.  Rain gear came out, bathroom stops taken, tanks filled and off we rode 2 miles up the road to a very yummy lunch at the Harvest House Restaurant.  More rain gear and off to our final destination Madras Oregon.  It rained most of the way but all went well and the Lord guided us through another wonderful day on the road with CMA Southern California.  Let God have it-He will take care of us.  All prayers from home have been felt and have carried us through.  Tomorrow we arrive in Moses Lake.  See you tomorrow. (PS Today John G from SDGRs met us in Madras and will ride with us into Moses Lake.)

Day 2 Bishop to Alturas CA

What a beautiful day! Once again the weather was perfect!! We left Bishop at 8:00 am after Wayne's devotion from James 1:2-5. He related how challenges come into our lives and God uses them to strengthen us; to develop our faith in Him. You might want to take a look at the scripture and mull this over so next time you are facing a challenge you will know you are in the middle of Faith Training!!

We headed out once again on Hwy 395 and took a side trip through the June Lake Loop-the scenery was so amazing and hard to describe. God created all this for us to enjoy - it is beyond words - the majesty and perfection of all nature has to offer.

We stopped for lunch and gas in Carson City NV and then split up and some went on to Alturas our final destination for the day. The second group rode to Virginia City and toured this old western town-remember Bonanza (Adam, Hoss, Little Joe and Pa)! We talked to several people, had ice cream and sasprilla (sp). Then it was off to Alturas for the rest of us.  Another 180 mile ride through more of God's country. The weather was cool, two lane highway with some winding roads and very little traffic.  There is nothing sweeter than a ride like this one.

Arrived in Alturas about 7:00 pm and checked in at the Rim Rock Hotel-a quaint little motel aboout 1950 circa--they even gave us a key with a plastic diamond shaped key tag with the room number on it--remember those??  We walked 100 yards up the street to the Brass Rail and ate a family style dinner-just good old fashioned fellowship.

God has once again blessed us with more than we could have ever dreamed of asking.  We wish you were all here and could experience this with us.

Oh, yesterday we also met up with the Golgotha Rider's in Bishop-Ron, Paul, Doug and Steve.  We are now 16 bikes strong and 18 people. Praise God for every blessing!

Road Trip to Moses Lake Washington for the National West Rally--Day 1

The day started early; on the bikes and off to Starbucks at 5:30 am.  We met Steve and Lynette and Brandon and Jolene,  has some coffee and something to eat. At six KSU and we headed up the I-15 to get Abe and then off to Colton where we met Wayne and Kathy, Joe and Rosie, Jerry, Jessie, C.W., and  Allan.  We headed to Hwy 395 and spent the rest of the day riding in wonderful weather (albeit a little on the warm side after lunch) enjoying God's creation.  Mountains and valleys, some with snow still capping the peaks while we enjoyed our 90 degree ride in the valley.

Our first night is in Bishop--some of us are moteling it and others are camping.  I personally love Bishop--we spent a fun time here with Dwight and Susan a couple years ago.  Lots  if good memories from that trip.

KSU tomorrow at 7:45 so I better get some sleep.

The Lord has been so good to us to allow us this opportunity of traveling by motorcycle with some pretty awesome people.  We are grateful each day for safe riding and sound mechanics!!  We pray we reflect God's love to others as we ride the highways.

Hopefully, I will be able to keep up with this blog as we spend the next 10 days on the rode and at the CMA National West Rally.  (It's more than I would have ever imagined!)
